BATHROOM BREAKTHROUGHS OT

What is
Occupational Therapy (OT)?
Every day, every one of us completes countless actions (big and small) that occupy our time. Whether it is doing work at a job, playing on the playground with friends, or just getting dressed in the morning, each of these occupations have meaning and purpose.
In occupational therapy, occupations like these are used to help people participate in the things they want and need to do.
Katie Behrhorst, OTR/L
Katie has been practicing occupational therapy for three years, with experience in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings. Her pediatric experience includes serving children, toddlers and infants with varying diagnoses, backgrounds, and levels of need.
Through the course of her work as an OT, as a specialized recreation counselor and in-home aide, Katie discovered a passion for helping individuals be as independent as possible. Katie's passion for teaching and rehabilitating toileting skills was channeled into Bathroom Breakthroughs in 2022. This passion project aims to help de-stigmatize the very human need to go to the bathroom, and to empower clients and their caregivers to the highest level of independence possible.
Katie's hobbies include: playing and teaching piano, rock climbing, and spending time with her two dogs.
